ONE GLYPH SYSTEM.
AN ENTIRE WORLD.
Symbolica is a Godot 4.7 adventure prototype written in typed GDScript. Procedural 4×4 glyph masks and direct geometric drawing build terrain, vegetation, structures, actors, atmosphere and effects across one deterministic 140×88 world.
THE GAME / 04
Symbolica is an adventure game in development, set inside a world built from geometric forms, procedural glyphs and a compact typographic language. Explore three elevations, gather materials, activate shrines, discover landmarks and fight through a landscape where every object belongs to the same symbolic system.
01A complete world drawn from geometric forms and procedural glyphs
02Three connected elevations with looping exploration routes
03Resource gathering, three shrines and six discoverable landmarks
04Grid movement with input-driven auto-aim combat
- 01READ
Learn how repeated glyphs describe terrain, vegetation, structures, actors and the routes between them.
- 02GATHER
Collect plant fiber, wood and stone from the world while keeping the limited healing charges for the moments that matter.
- 03ACTIVATE
Carry the required materials across three elevations and wake the plant-fiber, wood and stone shrines.
- 04DISCOVER
Find six landmarks and complete the expedition by turning an unfamiliar map into a language you understand.
A WORLD YOU
DON'T JUST SEE.
YOU READ IT.
Symbolica is an adventure game in development, set inside a world made from geometric forms, procedural glyphs and a compact typographic language.
Terrain, creatures, structures and effects all belong to the same visual grammar. The goal is to make exploration feel like learning to read an unfamiliar place — one sign, path and encounter at a time.
READ THE
TERRAIN.
Every element is drawn from a small system of abstract marks. Repeated shapes establish the difference between ground, vegetation, materials, actors and architecture without relying on conventional sprites or models.
Typography becomes both the art direction and the grammar of the world.

A real gameplay capture showing gathering inside the procedural-glyph landscape.
MOVE → READ → GATHERSPACE HAS
A GRAMMAR.
The fixed expedition map spans three playable elevations connected by ladders and looping routes. Focus, scale, brightness and parallax separate the layers while keeping every cell part of one coherent symbolic system.

Upper, active and lower terrain remain visible as distinct layers of the same map.
LOWER / CURRENT / UPPERAIM.
STRIKE.
ADVANCE.
Movement follows the grid, but encounters stay immediate. An attack input resolves the nearest valid target using distance, alignment and line of sight — auto-aim supports the action, while every strike still belongs to the player.

The target is chosen when the player attacks; the game never attacks on its own.
MOVE / CHOOSE / STRIKEFOLLOW THE SIGNS.
COMPLETE THE MAP.
Gather plant fiber, wood and stone. Activate three shrines across the elevations, discover six landmarks and manage the healing charges found along the way. The expedition ends only when every objective has been read, reached and completed.

Landmarks turn an unfamiliar symbol into a known place.
FIND / INTERACT / REMEMBER
Resources, shrines, landmarks and healing are tracked in one legible field guide.

BECOMES
LEGIBLE.
Completion is not about conquering the map. It is the moment when its scattered signs resolve into a route you understand — a visual language learned through movement.

Three shrines and six discoveries close the current expedition prototype.
