The Veil
Cold light, broken orbital structures and a distant fleet. The route escalates from small raiders to heavy ships before the Black Choir arrives.
FIRST CONTACT / WINDOWS PC

Small ship.
Hostile universe.
A side-scrolling space roguelite about reading the fire, choosing your upgrades and finding a way through.

Built in Godot 4.7 with GDScript, Eventide keeps movement, projectiles and collisions in 2D. Layered environments, animated sprites and custom shaders give the flight its depth without changing the combat rules.
Hold your primary fire, thread the gaps and time a Seeker salvo. Collect bio-energy to level up; every level pauses the fight for a choice of three upgrade cards.
Three sectors, escalating encounters and two boss fights from the current playtest. Music and effects are included; playback starts only when you press play.
720p / SOUND ON PLAYCurated in-engine captures with invulnerability enabled for filming. Not a complete playthrough or a performance benchmark. Contains flashing combat effects.
Choose a destination before deployment. Each sector has its own atmosphere, layered landmarks and encounters along an authored route.

Cold light, broken orbital structures and a distant fleet. The route escalates from small raiders to heavy ships before the Black Choir arrives.

A molten planet, orbital foundries and furnace stations. Ash and embers travel between independent layers of machinery and rock.

An alien ossuary in ice-blue light. Eight enemy types guard the approach to the Pale Regent, while a vast leviathan crosses the distant world.

Select one of seven hulls, from Umbra Pike to Rift Diver. Each has its own silhouette, running lights and engine animation. A cinematic close-up pulls back into flight.
IN-ENGINE SCREENSHOTStart with Twin Pulse cannons and paired Seeker missiles. Earn blueprints for lasers, angled plasma, piercing rail volleys or chain lightning. Switch between weapons unlocked in the current run.
Bio-energy fills your level meter. Choose damage, fire rate, hull, movement or other upgrades while combat pauses. Weapon cards can expand the loadout or improve missile recharge.
Upgrades belong to the run. Return to the hangar after victory or defeat and build again. Persistent between-run progression is not part of the current build.
The Black Choir and Pale Regent move their weapons independently. Read the telegraphed attack, cross the safe lane and use the exposed-core window to push back.

Shots originate at the moving weapon tips. Fans, rings and lane volleys turn the boss rig itself into something you need to read, not just a target to shoot.
IN-ENGINE SCREENSHOTShip selection, upgrade choices, pause, defeat and restart all support a controller. Keyboard and mouse remain available throughout.
Controller disconnect pauses flight. Reconnect and resume explicitly. Controller flows have been tested with simulated inputs; physical hardware testing remains pending.
Eventide has a playable Windows development build with three sectors, seven ships, upgrade drafts and boss encounters. The game is still in development; no public download is offered on this page yet.
